What is Dermaplan?
Dermaplan is an exfoliation treatment. By using a sterile scalpel Nurse Sally will remove the dead skin cells and vellus hair (aka ‘peach fuzz’). Vellus hair is the fine hair not hormonal hair so please dont panic you are not going to grow a beard, only the hair that is supposed to be thicker stays thick so your underarms, head and pubic area. Facial vellum hair will not grow back as stubble!
The benefits of dermaplaning are that your skin will feel brighter and smoother. The treatment can also soften fine lines and wrinkles. The treatment itself consists of a double cleanse, dermaplan, toner/peel preparation, peel/mask (decided on the day depending on skin condition: enzymatic peel, deep moisture or enzyme re texture) followed by deep moisturiser and sun protection.
The majority of people have no side effects from this treatment but rare short term side effects can include red and swollen skin from the scalpel, soreness or a tingling or mild burning sensation for up to 48 hours post procedure.
Oilplaning
Oilplaning is a perfect alternative for dry, sensitive, reactive, dehydrated or more mature skin. The oil acts as a lubricant to help reduce irritation and protect the acid mantle which is essential for a healthy skin barrier. The oil is applied before the treatment process of Dermaplan. It makes the procedure more comfortable for patients with extremely sensitive skin. The oils used are rich in linoleic acid (vitamin F). It is known for the great benefits for skin barrier health, can improve hyperpigmentation, help acne, feels light on the skin, absorbs quickly and does not clog pores.
Which mask is right for you?
Dermaplan is renowned for using an enzymatic mask/peel but everyone’s skin is unique and what’s good for someone else isn’t necessarily good for you! On the day of treatment, in your pre treatment consultation we will discuss which mask will best suit your skin.
Aqua Infusion Mask
Providing intense hydration by naturally increasing the skins ability to retain moisture with a blend of natural sugars, low molecular weight hyaluronic acid and natural moisturising factors. It will also soothe irritation and improve skin barrier function.
Deep Moisture Mask
This mask is ideal for dry, sensitive and irritated skin. Leaving you feeling hydrated, plump and glowing in your skin!

Enzyme Retexturising Treatment
With a mix of pineapple and papaya fruit enzymes this mask exfoliates dead skin cells and promotes skin renewal, minimising the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and hyperpigmentation.
Refining Clay Mask
A soothing and pore refining mask. This treatment cleanses and exfoliates your skin while drawing out the impurities. While the lactic acid and fruit enzymes enhance cell turnover.
And Finally The Enzymatic PEEL!
This will definitely give you a glow after your treatment! Leaving your skin supple and radiant. Exfoliating cellular debris and promoting cell renewal. The enzymatic peel will also help minimise fine lines, wrinkles and hyperpigmentation while the aloe vera will calm and smooth irritated skin.
